The City of Atlanta Parks Department has officially opened a new greenspace to the public on the Chattahoochee river in northwest Atlanta at 2630 Ridgewood Road. According to “Reporter Newspapers” the site on the river is the location of the former Fort Peachtree, built in 1814. The new greenspace is open during daylight hours and includes a pavilion and river access for kayakers and canoeists.
